Turn a photo sequence into a short video, entirely on your device.
Make your first reel
- Create a project in Projects.
- Tap Add photos or Files and choose still JPEG or PNG images. Files sorts by filename; drag photos or use the arrows to change the order.
- Open Video. Choose frames per second, framing, and a filter. Tapping a filter applies it and closes the picker.
- Wait for the video to prepare. It plays when the full player is visible, stops at the end, and returns to the first frame.
- Save video to Movies/BurstReel, Export to Files, or Share to an app you choose.
Import limits
Up to 400 photos per project and 25 MB per file. Only still JPEG and PNG images are accepted. RAW, HEIC, WebP, GIF, and animated images are not supported. Convert them to JPEG or PNG before importing. Keep at least 256 MB free on the device, plus room for your photos and finished video.
Rendering and filters
Long sequences, large photos, soft-glow filters, and alignment can take longer on slower devices. Keep BurstReel in the foreground while preparing a video. Cancel stops the current preparation without removing your original photos; Prepare video lets you retry. If the app reports low memory, close other apps and retry.
Auto-align needs an overlapping scene with visible detail. Smooth pan reduces shake while following motion. Lock to first photo holds a stationary scene. Alignment crops the edges and may reject frames that cannot be matched reliably.
Projects are local
Version 1 has no project sync or backup service. Uninstalling or clearing app storage removes private projects and saved logos. Exported videos and your original photos remain wherever you saved them. Export important videos before uninstalling.
